Paria Canyon Hike - The Start
The Paria River flows lazily along. The start of the trail. Eroded rock rises from the sandy valley. The Paria meanders on its way. Fascinating sculptured sentinels seems to watch over us.

The canyon walls seem to begin. Rocks and sand and shrubs. Walking through the river. Kathryn is the first to inspect a secret cave. The cave and the smooth canyon walls.

Another river crossing. Canyon walls with their amazing designs. Eroded walls created a stunning effect. Entering a side canyon just past mile 1. Inside the narrow side canyon.

Boulders wedged in the rock. Sunlight seems to beckon and show the way back. Evidence of a muddy time. Back out to the Paria, looking back to where we've walked. Gary takes a break before putting on the pack again.
