Paria Canyon Hike - Changing Scenes
Yet another river crossing. Water and rock. This was a tricky part to accomplish. Made it across the river yet again. Dangerous parts.

Fallen rocks and boulders made this part of the hike difficult. The remains of an old water pump near mile 17. Camping at what we called Cottonwood Grove. Bird watching in the morning at Cottonwood Grove. Cottonwoods and cliffs.

The canyon starts to widen again. Packs off, taking a hike up Wrather Canyon. Kathryn leads us up through this incredible place. Joanne and Gary climb up together. Wrather Arch.

Moss covered rocks add a splash of green. Patterns in the dried mud. Iron oxide in the rocks creates the dazzling colours. The Paria beckons. Kathryn at a place we called Alcove camp.
